On April 15th, 2026, the parliament of Georgia introduced a new C5 tourist visa. This change aims to make Georgia a popular destination for those engaged in entrepreneurial activities. But limitations apply.
What Does the C5 Visa Entail?
The C5 visa is defined as a visa granted to individuals coming to Georgia for short-term tourist purposes. It allows the visa-holder to enter Georgia and carry out entrepreneurial activities. However, these activities should be exclusively for the benefit of a non-resident person whose activities are outside Georgia.
The C5 visa can also be granted to the spouse and minor child(ren) of such persons.
How Long is Georgia’s C5 Visa Valid for?
The C5 visa falls under the category of a multiple-entry short-stay visa. It can be issued with a validity period of 5 years. However, the visa-holder is allowed to stay in Georgia for a total of 1 year during these 5 years.
Who Is the New Georgian C5 Visa Designed for?
For those who have a 1-year visa-free regime, getting the C5 visa doesn’t make much sense.
It makes more sense to apply for the C5 visa if you have only a 90/180-day visa-free regime, or you are required to obtain a visa anyway.
To confirm your entry requirements, go through this official questionnaire or contact us at ExpatHub.
In any case, if you decide to get the new C5 visa, make sure that you provide your services or products exclusively to non-residents of Georgia. You also have to make sure that they don’t have any activities in Georgia.
